The Seventh Annual InFirst Bank Veteran’s Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay races will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 beginning and ending at Saylor Park in Black, Lick, Pennsylvania. The 2017 race was the largest to date with over 300 runners in attendance from sixteen different states. The race is conducted in conjunction with the Indiana Road Runners Club, our local running group.
The marathon, half marathon, and marathon relay are held entirely on the rails-to-trails Ghost Town Trail with a turnaround point at Heshbon for the half marathon and Dilltown for the marathon.
Packet Pick-Up–JUST ANNOUNCED! For the first time, we are offering pre-race packet pick-up at the Jimmy Stewart Museum, 835 Philadelphia St., Indiana, on Saturday evening from 5-7 PM! Come and check out the museum. Racers can use their race bibs to get 50% their dinner at Bruno’s Italian, Benjamin’s or Spaghetti Benders (drinks not included)! Pick up any last-minute race needs at Gingerbread Man Running Company just down the street!
Registration is still available on race morning from 7-8:45 AM.

Our title sponsor once again this year is InFirst Bank, of Indiana, PA. This event would not be the success that it is without their generous support. Our thanks to Tim Kronenwetter, President and CEO of InFirst Bank for his personal involvement. Each year Tim and Sally Kronenwetter spend the entire day at the finish line handing out finisher’s medals and greeting each runner as he or she finishes. InFirst Bank employees also can be found manning the Heshbon Aid Station! In addition, many business, organizations, and individuals step up to serve as Mile Sponsors for the event and work at our awesome aid stations. It truly is a community event.
As a “thank you” for your service, Active Duty Military and Veterans will receive a Free special race t-shirt with proof of service (DD214 or copy of state of Military ID). Must send paper registration by October 28th to be eligible for this offer.
Over the past five years, nearly $100,000 has been raised to benefit local veterans. All proceeds from the race go the Western Pennsylvania Veteran’s Relief Fund to provide assistance to area veterans in need. Please see the link to learn more about our fund.
QUALIFYING FOR THE BOSTON MARATHON?
The marathon course has been certified and results are submitted to the Boston Athletic Association following the event. The marathon is not chip timed, so if you are attempting to qualify for Boston we strongly recommend that you line up as close to the starting line as possible.
