The InFirst Bank Marathon, Half-Marathon and Marathon Relay is still on (for now!). The race directors are hopeful that we can still make this event happen! Please note that we are doing everything we can to plan for a safe and fun race experience for all of our runners, spectators and volunteers. In light of that, here are some of the mitigation efforts and procedures that we plan to utilize:
*New lower participant caps– 150 runners in the Marathon, 150 in the Half-Marathon and 15 relay teams maximum
*Chip Timing by Gingerbread Man Running Company– we will utilize disposable bibs that have timing chips embedded
*Face Coverings will be required at the registration area, start line, finishing area and any other place where social distancing is not possible. We are working to produce a custom “buff” for our runners to utilize for the race. We will also require spectators to follow the same guidelines.
*Half-Marathon start– is pushed back to 10:00 AM (original time was 9:30). This will allow for more separation of the Marathon and Half-Marathon runners
*Wave Starts for each race to promote runner separation– considerations will be made for runners who wish to “race” for the win
*Aid Stations will be “self-serve”– we will only offer pre-packaged water/drinks and snacks. Aid station workers will be there to facilitate the stocking of aid stations and for emergencies only. (No cups!)
*NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION– all runners must be registered through runsignup or paper registration post-marked by October 24th
*Additional COVID-19 Waiver– must be signed by all participants
As we continue to monitor the situation we will adjust our plans. We will also follow any federal, state or local mandates that are in place at the time of the race. Thank you for your understanding! Keep your fingers crossed!
